This privately owned museum located on the grounds of the Kentucky Horse Park is a colorful and contemporary showcase of the American Saddlebred, Kentucky's native breed of horse.

ArtsPlace is a multi-purpose arts center which houses a gallery showcasing the works of Central Kentucky artists, and is also the site of free music and dance performances.

"Hands-on" is the philosophy at this museum. Seven galleries feature exhibits about nature, the human heart, world geography and culture, archaeology and Lexington history.

Lexington's newest attraction is housed in the beautiful old Fayette County Courthouse (circa 1900). Inaugural exhibits include a timeline of the area's history, a photographic study of Lexington's African-American community and a special display of the IBM's Selectric Typewriter, once produced locally. This late-Georgian-style brick house is the site of the nation's first shrine to a First Lady. In 1977, the home was restored to reflect the Todd family's residency.

Originally a campsite for the first settlers in the Bluegrass , this 26-acre nature sanctuary features an array of historical and environmental features. Trails take visitors past natural springs, limestone fences originally constructed in the early 1800s and recently restored, the remains of an historic grist mill and farm, and a quarry, from which most of the stone for the buildings on the site was taken. A naturalist is stationed at the Visitors Center , with tours scheduled regularly.

Old Kentucky Candies has been making candy in the Bluegrass for more than 35 years and is best known for its delicious Bourbon Chocolates and Bourbon Cherries, both made with 100-proof Jim Beam Kentucky Bourbon.

At this working Thoroughbred training facility, visitors can go behind the scenes to learn about a normal working day in the lives of Thoroughbreds and those who train and care for them.

This 2.5 acre park dedicated to the Thoroughbred industry contains seven life-size and lifelike bronze racehorses streaking toward the finish line, while broodmares, foals and the great stallion Lexington "graze" in a nearby field. Jockey greats Randy Romero, Pat Day, Bill Shoemaker, Jerry Bailey, Don Brumfield, Chris McCarron and Craig Perret are all represented.
